Art in the Park 2026
Every July, a small part of Cheltenham’s Imperial Gardens hosts an outdoor art gallery for Art in the Park. Local artists exhibit their work for a week, and visitors can wander through the displays, chat to artists and take home original artwork.
This year I exhibited on a full screen, which meant plenty of preparation beforehand – choosing paintings, framing artwork (my husband did that bit!), pricing everything and hoping I’d made the right decisions.
The week got off to a slow start. For the first few days nothing sold, which definitely tested my confidence. But then things changed.
By the end of the exhibition I’d sold eight original paintings, including one that is heading all the way to Denmark, another to Norway and another to Buckinghamshire. One painting even sold at 7:29pm on the final day, right before Art in the Park closed until next year.
