Fox in a Meadow Illustration

Drawing foxes is probably one of my favourite things to draw – maybe that’s because I haven’t tried drawing many other animals yet…. or maybe it’s because I find foxes are just so beautiful! As part of a two week post everyday Instagram challenge I posted my ‘Fox in a Meadow’ illustration (she could do with a name) with two backgrounds, white and black. Its not the most unique of poses but there are some gorgeous photos on foxes on Pinterest sat just like this. I’ll work on different poses another time. Here they are:

Black seems to be the most popular colour choice – I can see why, the colours really stand out against the strong black background. The white is lovely and ‘fresh’ though.

I used the Procreate app to draw this and Procreate has an awesome function where it records every thing you do and replays it as a time lapse. Hours and hours of drawing squished into 44 lovely little seconds.

I created this fox as part of a really good, well explained and well planned Skillshare class project by Brooke Glaser (*Skillshare link here). *update 2021 Brooke has updated her class since I drew this. Procreate has been updated and includes new features.

Any ideas for what name might suit her? 😆🦊

I hope you’ve enjoyed this illustration of Esmeralda Fox (or Mabel Fox… or neither, I don’t know I’m just throwing ideas out there). Regardless of her name I’m still be proud of her 😍

Until next time

Lauren

  1. Love this (especially the black background…makes the colors pop). Hope you win. I didn’t reallize we could advertise our submissions to the Spoonflower contests prior to voting. I’ll start doing this next time, although I’m sure it won’t matter much. (I’m new to Spoonflower and surface pattern designing.) Thanks for the hat tip.

    1. Thank you so much! Hmmm I’m pretty sure we can share our submissions before the voting begins! I know people share on the Spoonflower Facebook group before the voting opens so I’m assuming this is ok 😆
